Three Kings, or Magi followed the light of a star in search of something special. That something special was the infant Jesus. That infant grew to shine a life changing light in the world, a light that many still search for and follow. That light is the Light of Christ.
What Does the Light of Christ Mean?
Humans cannot live without physical light. While we can survive for short periods in very low light, we need regular exposure to light, whether from the sun or artificial sources, for essential physiological and psychological functions. Complete and prolonged absence of light is extremely detrimental to human health and survival.
But we need more than physical light to live a full life. We need the light of Christ. In essence, the “light of Christ” represents the totality of Jesus’ being and his impact on the world. It’s about his teachings, his example, his sacrifice, and the transformative power of his love. It’s a source of truth, hope, guidance, and inspiration for Christians. The light of Christ offers a fullness of life not possible with only physical light. A fulness of life with meaning and purpose, including rich and loving relationships with God, ourselves, other people and creation.

The magi were attentive, the stars revealed to them that someone special had been born. They set-out on the journey of a lifetime as they followed the star to the Christ child. Stopping to ask for help along the way.
