Sermon Summaries & Reflections

Jesus is the Light of the World

Responding to Christ’s Light: Opening the door when Jesus’ knocks.

Jesus invites us to open our hearts and lives to him. “Behold! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come into you and eat with you, and you with me.” Today’s scripture readings are rich in a wealth of memorable words and unforgettable phrases, themes and images. The Gospel reading from Luke, chapter 6, especially, packs a punch! Packs a punch for any of us struggling to map our lives according to the call and the demands of the Gospel and the values of God’s kingdom. Christ offers to come into our lives.
