Remembrance Sunday – 2024

Our first reading on this Remembrance Sunday comes from the Wisdom of Solomon (3:1-9). The author addresses the metaphysics of death and encourages readers to look beyond the mere observables of death and suffering. Suffering and death, the author contends, are best understood by considering them from the perspective of one with faith in a loving, just and faithful God. This faith perspective allows for love and hurt, joy and sorrow, peace and travail, to coexist.
